Late Fall at White Oak Lake

Pastel painting from a photo. I did paint plein air in oil that day, but wiped it off.
12" x 17" pastel on Wallis paper.

  1. This is really lovely! The warm palette you've used, and the way you've captured the dappled play of light is beautiful. Well done, Carlene!

  3. 'Late Fall at White Oak Lake' - Appreciate your use of the rule of thirds ... and the fencing ... allowing the majestic tree to capture the light.

  4. I agree with Helen.......a lovely use of a warm palette. Even if you don't use pastels often, your confidence in applying strokes of color is outstanding. I hope you continue to explore this medium.
