This was first painted without the smile, but the volunteer smiled a lot so I made a slight adjustment to make a smile. He was very friendly and outgoing. He volunteers at a lot of organizations. He is representing the food pantry and I can see how he would make you feel comfortable whatever your position. I felt I had to post something and will replace this again when I finish the shirt.
11 x 14 oil on panel
Possibly the best one yet. Can really feel the flesh over muscle over bone on his features.
ReplyDeleteThanks, some come together easier than others.
ReplyDeleteI agree with John, each portrait just keeps getting better and better! I imagine you'll want to be a full time portrait artist when you done with this project. I'm confident your work will be in demand!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Gin. I am enjoying the experience.
DeleteWow, this is a really great likeness of him.
ReplyDeleteThanks, I added a little bit of a smile from the photos. That is probably how everyone sees him. A very nice friendly guy.
