Quarry Creek no2

I know this looks familiar because I am painting from the same photo reference that I have used before.  There is not need to paint every rock as you see it just the general feel of the scene. This scene is challenging to get the correct feel of the water flowing over the rocks and the white water, that is why I will go back to the photo reference. I will probably paint it until I feel it is prefect or just give up.

  1. This is beautiful Carlene, you have really captured the water rushing over the rocks!

  3. Well done! The colour of the water is very interesting and natural. I think artists always assume it's blue.
    Happy Painting.

  4. Thank you for the encouraging comments. Trying not to paint the water blue is one of the things I was working on by repeating this scene.
