Geode Rock Wall2

This was painted alla prima on the white ground. Painting rocks is abstract so deviations from the original scene don't worry me. 
6 x 8 oil on Raymar panel.

    I like rocks too, but rarely paint them. I like the abstract feel and the play with cool and warm colors.

    I have had an obsession with painting rocks lately, and am lucky to live fairly close to the Gettysburg National Park where there are amazing rock outcroppings everywhere. This is a wonderful painting, full of light and color. I love it!
