I have painted this before but in oil. With a commission coming up my watercolor is rusty. This was painted on some scrap paper I had laying around. The paper did not receive the paint very well. I remember buying some watercolor paper on sale that was endorsed by a famous current watercolor teacher. Sometimes you can paint gessoe over the paper and paint acrylic. Also I have painted Acrylic ground for pastels over failed watercolor. I usually end up with strokes on it but that does not distract from the pastel.
