Kayaking on the Skunk River

I was painting on the banks of the Skunk River when this woman showed up. A great opportunity to paint more that just water. There are great views on the river without public access and painting from a kayak may be a good idea or at least sketching.
8" x 16" oil on Ampersand board.

  1. Oh wow...the use of color in this is so nice and the wavelets in the water just right. Dangerous composition but the reflections just save it. It's like watching an an Indiana Jones movie!

    1. I had thought about putting a fallen tree on the bank to lead to the paddle, then tree reflections to lead back up. This was painted over another painting so it is more of a study. Thanks for commenting.
