The waters were rather still this day. The still waters made for a boring painting so I added small waves.

This painting was donated to a local fundraiser.

This little vase has an opening on the side. After buying it I was not sure it would look nice with anything, but it works very well with this small bouquet and it is fun to paint the shadow.

My Hydrangeas are starting to die out early due to the extreme heat. I have some traditional white ones I may not have a chance to paint.

Shasta Daisy

I was in a hurry this morning to kick out one more painting before the garden tour. I think that helped me produce a better watercolor. What I always liked was the fluid spontaneous use of the medium.

Ribbons

Still playing with the ribbons. The problem is these are not shiny ribbons which would be a lot more fun. The polka dot ribbon has pink dots with green background on one side and green dots with a pink background on the other side.

Yellow Iris

The irises are almost gone. I thought I better take advantage of it while I still can. I choose this because is show the bud, the flower in bloom and the finished bloom.

I reposted this one again. I added more veining and had the bottom of the leaves fade into the background.  I use masking tape around the edges before I paint. After the painting is finished I remove it leaving a white border. When I matt this I will leave the edge showing.

The irises are out now. I painted this one from my yard.
