Indian Summer

Another view of the kayak from a previous post. This was from a photo taken late last September during an Indian Summer which is a period of unseasonalby warm, dry weather in autumn, in this case after the leaves have fallen. Probably would have been easier to paint when the trees had nice autumn colors.

I enjoy the feedback and based on that:

  1. I like the spray coming from the paddle. Interesting strokes, too - ithey almost looks like a very complicated batik.

    1. With photo references I am pushing my visual memory. If I had to do it again I would have done the landscape first from plein air and had a digital image reference to fit the kayak in. I really struggled with the dirt bank. I enjoy working through the problems and learning.

    1. That could be an option to crop the pastel and make two separate drawings. Thanks for commenting.
