Peonies no8

I painted plein air yesterday and it did not turn out very well. Today I painted the peonies in my back yard. This turned out much better. These blossoms were very heavy and that is why they turn downward.

Driving the Barbie Car no 2

This was a challenge for me. The angle of the girl and expression are difficult. The first one my husband told me the face looked bad. I am not completely satisfied with this one. I may put it back on the easel when the paint dries. I am putting it out there now showing all my flaws.

Soccer Player

My son played soccer when he was young. He is now more interested in cars than sports.
I have often picked up a copies of Sports Illustrated to practice painting people in motion. This painting was the results of that practice.

Riding the Barbie Car

For Mother's Day I went to see the grandchildren and of course took pictures. This was when Hannah was riding her Barbie car. It was the look of joy on her face that I wanted to capture in the painting. It doesn't really look like her but it was the memory of a happy laughing child that matters.

Bay Quarter Horse

I stopped along the road and took this picture in the early morning light. The original photo had a wire fence across the face. I am not a photographer so a lot of the my paintings are the result of editing my photos.

Tap Dancers

These little girls were performing on an outdoor stage at the local county fair. I edited this, in the original they were not in step.

Steer on the Hill

I saw this steer on the top of a hill this morning looking ahead. Most of the time they will look at you when you stop to photograph them.

Rose in Blue Bottle

This rose was one of a dozen. I had this blue bottle that I wanted to paint but only one rose would work. 6x6 Oil on Raymar panel.
