I painted plein air yesterday and it did not turn out very well. Today I painted the peonies in my back yard. This turned out much better. These blossoms were very heavy and that is why they turn downward.
This is the last of my Azaleas till next year. I am now in the mood for Geraniums, but I will have to buy them as I have not had much luck keeping them inside till next year.

This was a challenge for me. The angle of the girl and expression are difficult. The first one my husband told me the face looked bad. I am not completely satisfied with this one. I may put it back on the easel when the paint dries. I am putting it out there now showing all my flaws.
For Mother's Day I went to see the grandchildren and of course took pictures. This was when Hannah was riding her Barbie car. It was the look of joy on her face that I wanted to capture in the painting. It doesn't really look like her but it was the memory of a happy laughing child that matters.
I stopped along the road and took this picture in the early morning light. The original photo had a wire fence across the face. I am not a photographer so a lot of the my paintings are the result of editing my photos.
