This was part of a painting challenge based on a photo of a young woman texting in front of a fountain. I added the Statue just to make it more challenging.
I choose this girl because her blue eyes and dress work well with the color scheme of blue and red, giving me the warms and cools. The cool blue eyes act as an accent for the painting.

This was another option for the challenge. I used basically the same paint I had on my pallette for all three paintings. This one I used ultramarine blue instead of quinocridrone violet and more yellow than green making this one a triad color scheme.
This was one of the possibilities for the latest Daily Paintworks challenge. I used the yellow green, blue green and reddish purple triad for this one.
I am working on clouds for a larger painting. This is the second study for the sky. When plein air painting you will not always get the perfect sky and even when I do the clouds move too fast for my skills. I will paint the sky to record atmospheric conditions and also take pictures.
I managed to finish two magnolia paintings plein air painting in front of my house. The time before that I drove 25 miles to Shimek Forest and finished one painting, which when I got home, I wiped off the canvas.
This is combining a couple of the last horse studies into a pasture scene. I plan to use this 6x6 study for a 12x12 painting. I don't know if I like the landscape in the background.
When I get behind on the daily painting I'll add a subject that I can turn out fast. When these photos were taken the camera was set to continuous, so you will see a lot of horses at various stages of movement. I went out plein air painting and forgot my medium so I was painting with straight tube paint. When I got home I wiped the canvases with turpentine. This is painted over one of those which left just enough medium for a great ground.
This is the second painting for the daily painters challenge. This one is based on the reference photo below. The challenge was to edit the photo for the painting.
This came from a photo of a rabbit at the county fair. I have tried to photograph them in the wild but I guess I am not very good at sneaking up on them. So I have to photograph them in the cage and edit out the cage.
