Hay Field Under the Midwestern Sky

This started with a Sharpie Marker, which you can still see in places. Then I painted in acrylics. This was an ideal for a beginner painting class.

Rodeo Park Fall 2014

Final portrait. This was from photo references. I did not take the photos from the same angle as he posed so this was a little guess work.
The SouthEast Iowa Artists' Studio Tour was this weekend. I participated at the local art center with portrait demos. This was one of the models I managed to paint in an hour and a half. I need to work on it some more but feel that I have captured his likeness well.

25 paintings in 30 days
OK so I did not make 30 paintings in 30 days. Congratulations to the artists who did make it, lots of hard work and determination. I started out trying to do all of the paintings plein air and did make 14 paintings on site. Even this grouping was late.
