Trumpet Vine

I started this as a watercolor. I was not happy with it and making drastic changes on a transparent watercolor is beyond my capacity. I then painted 2 coats of clear gessoe over it and painted it with oil.

White Rose

This was painted for a monochromatic challenge. I used what was left on my palette hoping that would be somewhat gray.

Wilson Lake after the Snow

SOLD

We had 7 inches of snow a couple of days ago. When the roads cleared I took the dogs out to Wilson Lake. The little dashound Lucy hopped from one footprint to another to get through the deep snow. She finally figured out if she walked under the evergreens the ground was cleared. Maybe I should buy a sled and she can ride on that. She was still excited the next time I went out.

White Roses

I am not as good as I would like to be at painting roses, so I keep trying. I think this one is better than the last one. This is good enough for now.

Statue

I thought this was a statue of Mary but then I noticed there is what appears to be a rosary bead. I should have checked  for an identification plate.

Brown Eyed Girl

I am busy on a commission so a quick drawing is all I have time for. This little girl has very pretty eyes. When I have time I would like to do a painting. Her sister also has very pretty eyes and freckles.

Black eyed Susan

As I was packing up my easel and leaving the park I noticed these and took a photo before I left. Now seemed like a nice time to paint it.

Hanna's Rainy Day

Yesterday I visited my grandaughters. The older girl loves to play air hockey. We had so much fun doing that. The younger girl as you can see likes to paint and draw. She drew this great painting for me and I drew one for her. The little dog is Lucy my dashound and both Hannah and the dog are wearing rain hats. More fun than plein air painting.

Red Onion Yellow Onion 2

Another onion that is starting to sprout. I don't know if it is that I don't use onions in my cooking or that I don't cook from scratch much.

Moeller's Cow

My cousins had a milk farm. I remember helping them bring the cows up for milking which I thought was fun. They had one cow that was so gentle they could ride her back to the barn.

Second Hand Rose

After Valentine's Day is when I buy Roses. This was a lovely rose that did not get a chance to be that symbol of love it was meant to be. Instead I made a painting and maybe someone will buy it to give to a loved one for that special occasion.

Three Pears 2

Another play day with a palette knife. I really like the clean up with this. I just don't like waiting for it to dry. I also like to take my photos in early morning and late afternoon on a sunny day. I will cheat with indoor lighting but not with these.

Red Wine and Green Grapes

I like to drink white wine but I like to paint red wine. I guess I can drink red for my art.
